It is not a secret that every brand uses a brand board to organize their branding and or when they are rebranding.

A brand board helps you to discover your brand’s needs to keep everything constant.

WHAT IS A BRAND BOARD?

A brand board is basically a document containing your palette, your logos, brand elements, font examples and all that, tiny information in one place.

WHY USE A BRAND BOARD?

Brand boards are basically like a guide when styling your brand. It’s everything in one neat document. So let’s say you forgot your palette, all you need to do is just refer to your brand board and all the hex codes will be there.

FREE TEMPLATE!

Use the exact template, that I used above. All you need is a free Canva account to access the templates.

WHAT I LIKE TO INCLUDE?

Here is what I like to include in a brand board. Of course, these layouts differ from one designer to another, but here are my personal favourite things to include.

THE MAIN LOGO

Absolutely essential, this is your brand identity. We use this everywhere, blog, freebies, printables, you name it.

COLOUR PALETTE

Choose 5 colours, that are absolutely gorgeous and you vibe with. Pale neutrals, feminine pink, blues, purples, greens, choose your vibe and stick with it.

Tip : Try not to go crazy with neons.

MOOD

What do you want your brand to look like? What did you use for inspiration? Do you want your brand to look bright and airy or do you want it to look minimalistic? Find some pins on Pinterest to suit your vibe and stick with them.

ALTERNATE LOGOS

This is where I put the sub marks. I usually have around 3, in different colours and metallic. So, that whenever I’m designing my pins I would just copy and paste them in my design.

FONTS

Fonts!!! One of the most important elements in a brand design. Add in an example of all the fonts that are going to be used in the brand design.

Tips when choosing fonts :

Headings : Choose an elegant and classy font. Make sure it’s easy to read too.

Scripts : Again, use a script that suits your design and isn’t hard to read.

Body Text : Sans Serif is preferred. Because it’s easy to read and anyone can understand it.

FREE TEMPLATE!

Use the exact template, that I used above. All you need is a free Canva account to access the templates.

And that is what I like to include in my brand board. But yet again, everyone’s needs differ and this is what I personally prefer. Make sure you snag the template and start creating your brand.
