If you’ve been wondering how to set up your travel journal then you are in the right place. Today I’m gonna be taking you on a step by step guide to set up your travel journal and focus on some important layouts. But just because they are doesn’t mean it’s a must to have them in your journal. You can use your favorite spreads and get creative.
Let’s start off with some supplies necessary.
First off start with a journal. A normal book would do but if you do want to take it to the next level make sure you get a pretty journal. You can get a blank notebook, a bullet journal, or a pre-made travel journal.
PENS OR PENCILS
Find a good quality pen or a pencil that is leakproof and waterproof. While you are at it try some erasable pens too.
I love washi tapes and the more I buy the more I want so I think you should too. Round up some pretty patterned tapes to stick down your tickets and odds and ends. Say bye to ugly tape.
You can use any supply beyond these I’ve mentioned. Some stickers, felt tips, stamps.
HOW TO SET IT UP
PLAN YOUR TRIP.
You can start off with a page to plan your trip. You can plan your finances, your budget here.
CREATE A TRAVEL ITINERARY.
Now go and google up the places you want to visit and jot it down. Write down important reminders and your to-dos here.
PACKING LIST & COUNTDOWN.
My favorite! Start packing and crossing days off the list. It’s fun to look forward to something impatiently so I like to cross days off for anything and everything.
Now it’s time to plan your dailies while you are on the trip. This layout I found looks pretty cool and I think you should try it.
Here are some of the things you could include in your Travel Dailies.
- Room for a daily diary entry
- List of ‘best of’ moments
- Doodle of a memory
- Overview of the week with the activity/event options on each day
- To-do list
- Highlights section
Now that you have the spread ready. You can include some space to make memories and build your journal. You can add in polaroids and make photo collages and almost everything. Try collecting things for your journal. A leaf you found while hiking, a napkin from the restaurant that you ate in, and so on.
Try including some travel quotes to give your journal some Travel love. This is a great way to spice up your journal.
So I hope you enjoyed this post and found some inspiration to set yours up. If you did enjoy this post make sure to share it.
